Responsibilities

The SCTU Registered Nurse renders specialty nursing care to patient being transported from one facility to another. They are responsible to act under physician orders and is a patient advocate. They are to adhere to all laws set forth at NJAC 8:41-10.3 which regulates specialty ambulance transportation by the New Jersey Department of Health. They provide care to patient ranging from neonatal through geriatric.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  • NJ Registered Nurse License.
  • Current and valid Healthcare Provider ? BLS CPR card.
  • Current and valid AHA ACLS card.
  • Current and valid AHA PALS card or ENPC.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • CEVO certification ? must obtain within 3 months of hire and renew in 3 year period.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) within three months of hire / transfer.
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic (MICN) or Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic (MICP).
  • Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) must be obtained for NJ Registered Nurses that have not yet obtained MICN or MICP certification.
  • Mobile Intensive Care Nurse training as per NJ 8:41-4:11, with an additional 100 hours of ALS truck orientation time (total 200 hours)
  • Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) or Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic (MICP) within the first year of hire / transfer
  • Undergraduate/Bachelor's Degree preferred.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $43.26 to $54.09. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.

    Registered Nurse for IR and PICC (Full-time, Day shift)

    What You'll Be Doing Closely monitors the patient for complications, administers medications including moderate sedation, documents the procedure, and assist with procedures. IR+PICC nurses also play an important role in communication and patient education both pre and post procedure. The successful candidate will be able to: Administering moderate sedation to patients during the procedures Monitoring patients’ vital signs during the procedure and reporting any changes to the physician or other staff members Preparing patients for procedures by explaining the procedure to them, preparing them for procedure, and setting up any equipment that is needed Preparing and arranging equipment for cases such as CT scans, ensuring that all equipment is working properly before and after each procedure Preparing patients for diagnostic imaging studies such as MRI scans and CT scans by helping them position and IV insertions Preparing patients for interventional procedures such as biopsies and drainages Perform comfort and safety measures with patients in the radiology department Respond to emergencies The interventional radiology nurse will be responsible for patient care throughout minimally invasive, image-guided procedures from the moment a patient is admitted into the radiology department to the time when that patient is discharged to a post-operative recovery area. Other responsibilities include to start or check peripheral IVs, assess implanted ports, PICCs, and Midline catheter, monitor vital signs, suction patients, and help patients with their personal needs.     What You'll Be Doing The Registered Nurse (RN) Provides professional nursing cae within the Emergency Department to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Provies direct and indirect patient care in the emergency care setting. Provides care that reflects initiative, flexibility and responsibility indicative of professional expectation with a minimum of supervision. The ability to triage safely, rapidly and accurately, every patient that enters the ED. Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the department. Communicate with the physicians about changes in patient's status, symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies. The ability to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Demonstrate the ability to use equipment specific to the Emergency Department.     Summary of Position : The Hudson Regional Hospital Operating Room Nurse Coordinator maintains standards of the practice for nursing as defined by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and Nursing’s Social Policy Statement. The OR Nurse Coordinator actualizes the vision, mission, values and balanced scorecard performance measures for Hudson Regional Hospital. The OR Nurse Coordinator participates in performance improvement/research activities; maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise; and demonstrates leadership skills. The RN demonstrates core and unit specific competencies based on the patient population served. Responsible for the provision of nursing care to patients undergoing a surgical intervention. Demonstrates leadership in management systems, clinical practice, quality assurance and staff development in accordance with overall philosophy and goals of the Operating Room EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: New Jersey State License for Registered Professional Nurse and current registration or valid permit to practice in New Jersey State as an R.N. BLS required. CNOR Certification preferred in specialty or efforts to achieve certification. AORN Membership preferred. BSN degree preferred and at least 2-5 years clinical experience in the specialty or related service; or combination of education and experience acceptable to the Director of Nursing or designee. Computer literate either 5-8 hour shifts or 4-10 hour shifts, based on the needs of the department
