Job SummaryProvides general medical care under the direction of a licensed provider to patients in an outpatient clinic setting. This position works directly with a franchised business location. The specific job duties and benefits can vary between franchises. Responsibilities 
  • Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam 
  • Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients
  • Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure
  • Draw blood and preparation labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing 
  • Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions
  • Respond to all lab messages and call back requests
  • Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations
  • Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with the approved procedure
  • Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as-needed basis
  • Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

QualificationsAssociates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Physicians Care is looking for experienced Medical Assistants to join our team in Chattanooga, TN. JOB SUMMARY: The Medical Assistant provides clinical care to patients in urgent care, occupational health, and workers’ compensation settings. Responsibilities include initial evaluations, x-ray testing, and preparing patients for provider evaluation by recording histories, vital signs, and documentation while recognizing acuity levels for appropriate intervention. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned. • Greet patients promptly and provide clear communication about next steps and wait times • Offer solutions to patient concerns and seek help in emergent or hazardous situations • Ensure timely follow-up for lab and x-ray results; execute follow-up calls with urgency • Support front desk staff with check-in and check-out procedures when needed • Accurately document vital signs, histories, medications, allergies, and other pertinent details • Assist with patient transfers, procedures, and lab work under provider supervision • Prepare and shoot X-Rays, ensuring proper positioning, safety, radiation protection, and shielding • Complete all required visit documentation and maintain stocked, clean exam rooms • Adhere to infection control, safety, and patient confidentiality standards • Perform phlebotomy, injections, and other clinical procedures as trained and directed WHAT'S THE SCHEDULE? Full-time team members work a rotating 36-40 hour/week schedule, consisting of 12-hour weekday shifts and every-other weekend. Our PRN (per diem) team members are scheduled on an as-needed basis.
