Make a Difference in Behavioral Health & Recovery

Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and dependable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Concord, NC program in a full-time capacity. This position plays an important role in providing safe, compassionate nursing care to adults receiving treatment for substance use disorders and/or mental health conditions.

The LPN provides direct nursing care, administers medications, supports detoxification protocols, completes clinical assessments, and collaborates with medical providers and the treatment team to ensure clients receive high-quality, person-centered care.

Schedule

  • Full-Time

  • 8-hour shifts

  • Schedule based on program and client-care needs

  • Weekend availability may be required based on operational needs

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Complete nursing assessments for new admissions, as applicable.

  • Administer medications according to physician orders, nursing standards, and program protocols.

  • Implement and monitor detoxification protocols as assigned.

  • Complete COWS and CIWA assessments in accordance with clinical protocols.

  • Monitor clients and report changes in condition to the appropriate medical or clinical staff.

  • Provide medication education and support to clients.

  • Assist medical providers with assessments, medication management, and follow-up care.

  • Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.

  • Maintain medical equipment and supplies in proper working order.

  • Follow all HIPAA, safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain professional boundaries and ethical nursing standards.

  • Participate as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Licensure, Education & Experience

  • Current, unencumbered LPN license in North Carolina required.

  • Current CPR/BLS, AED, and First Aid certification required.

  • Minimum of one year of nursing experience preferred.

  • Previous experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, detoxification, or co-occurring disorders strongly preferred.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced treatment environment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong clinical judgment and nursing skills.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to assess situations, recognize changes in client condition, and respond appropriately.

  • Ability to remain calm and professional during crisis or high-risk situations.

  • Knowledge of applicable healthcare, nursing, and regulatory standards.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with nurses, medical providers, counselors, and other members of the treatment team.

  • Commitment to providing respectful, compassionate, and recovery-focused care.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent talking, hearing, and use of hands.

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, and climb stairs as needed.

  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds and, less frequently, up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to perform duties requiring close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception vision.

Work Environment

  • Primarily an indoor healthcare/treatment environment.

  • Moderate noise levels.

  • Full-time 8-hour shifts based on program and client-care needs.

  • May involve exposure to infectious diseases and individuals experiencing acute psychiatric, behavioral, or traumatic situations.

  • Requires reliable transportation to and from the work location.
