What You Should Know About the CV Prep & Recovery- RN:

  • Monday- Friday: Hours vary to cover department- 6:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Position will take call and respond within 60 minutes from time of notification. 
  • This position is based within Jefferson Regional CV Prep & Recovery Department

Job Summary:

The Cardiovascular Prep and Recovery Unit Registered Nurse is responsible for the care of patients before and after Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology procedures. This includes patient preparation, assessments, recovery, education, and collaboration with the procedural teams to ensure a smooth and safe pre and post process.

CV Prep & Recovery- RN Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Technical Diploma in Nursing required. Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred. 
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing program. 
  • Current Arkansas Registered Nurse Licensure.
  • BLS/CPR required upon hire or prior to patient care.
  • ACLS required within 1 year of hire. 
  • This is a safety sensitive position. *
  • Minimum requirements:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage patients in a fast paced environment
    • Strong knowledge in electronic documentation system
    • Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure, with excellent critical thinking and decision making skills
    • Basic proficiency in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
    • Adequate verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams
    • Basic flexibility to adapt to changes in patient conditions and unit priorities
  • Preferred requirements:
    • Previous experience in surgical nursing, pre-operative care or other related field a plus
    • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in nursing
    • Knowledge of preoperative procedures, medications, and patient safety protocols.
    • Proficiency in electronic documentation systems

Working a fast-paced environment, the PACU RN performs continuous monitoring, manages pain and post-anesthesia symptoms, and responds to urgent clinical needs during the immediate post-operative period.
