Unit Manager Key Responsibilities:

  • Take the reins and manage the daily operations of the nursing unit.
  • Lead and inspire the nursing staff, handling everything from scheduling to training and performance evaluations.
  • Stay on top of federal, state, and local regulations, ensuring compliance with all health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans for our residents.
  • Keep a watchful eye on resident care to ensure it meets our high standards and protocols.
  • Tackle any issues or concerns related to resident care with grace and efficiency.
  • Host regular staff meetings to share updates, policies, and procedures—because communication is key!
  • Maintain accurate and organized medical records and documentation—attention to detail is a must!
  • Play a vital role in recruiting and onboarding new nursing staff.
  • Work hand-in-hand with other department heads to ensure the facility runs like a well-oiled machine.
  • Connect with residents and their families, addressing concerns and providing updates on care plans.

Unit Manager Qualifications:

  • Current and valid RN license in the state of New Jersey.
  • Experience as a Unit Manager is required—this isn’t your first rodeo!
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to long-term care.

Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Current Registered Professional Nurse licensure in New York State, Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, 2 Years experience required, Clinical certification in the patient population served or nurse leader certification Ability to apply nursing process toward achievement of specific outcomes in an organized fashion to address patient/family satisfaction and quality indicators, Evidence of excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, organization, critical thinking, problem solving, and leadership skills, Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association, Physical stamina, manual, dexterity, visual and aural acuity to perform responsibilities.
