Job Summary:
Highlands Rehabilitation and Wellness Center is seeking a highly motivated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as our Staff Development Coordinator. In this role, you will lead the growth and development of our team, strengthening our ability to deliver exceptional resident care and outcomes. Responsibilities:
Coordinate staff training and education programs, including developing and implementing curricula, conducting training sessions, and evaluating program effectiveness.
Oversee new hire orientation and annual competency validation for nursing staff, including CNAs, LPNs, and RNs.
Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to staff members, identifying areas for growth and development.
Identify and address staffing needs, recommending solutions to management and helping ensure adequate staffing levels.
Maintain accurate records of staff training, competencies, licensure and certification verification, performance evaluations, and related data.
Collaborate with the Director of Nursing, management, and other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
Stay current with regulatory requirements, industry trends, and best practices, sharing knowledge with staff to enhance their skills.
Qualifications:
Current, active, and unrestricted Alabama LPN or RN license, or a multistate compact license valid in Alabama (required)
Current CPR/BLS certification (required)
Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred
Prior experience in staff education, training, or nursing leadership preferred
Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills
