Embark on a rewarding contract role supporting exceptional students who require dedicated nursing care during their morning school commute. Key Qualifications:
- Current, unrestricted MA LPN or RN license
- At least one year of nursing experience, ideally with pediatric or school-aged populations
- Proficiency supporting students with seizure disorders, g-tubes, tracheostomy care, and oxygen saturation monitoring
- Confidence administering emergency interventions (Valtoco PRN, Epipen, oral suctioning, O2 administration)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to respond swiftly to evolving health concerns
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and monitor students’ medical status during their morning bus ride, approximately 7.5 hours per week
- Provide hands-on care, such as ensuring g-tube integrity, oxygen monitoring, and emergency medication administration as needed
- Maintain a calm, encouraging environment while safeguarding the safety and dignity of each student
- Communicate clearly with transportation staff, school personnel, and families regarding student needs or changes in status
- Document care provided and participate in planning for each student’s health needs
