What You'll Do

As an LDRP RN, you will:

  • Provide individualized nursing care to antepartum, laboring and postpartum patients and their newborns.
  • Assess patients, develop and implement plans of care, and evaluate outcomes.
  • Recognize and respond quickly to changes in maternal and newborn condition.
  • Participate in deliveries and provide care throughout the labor and delivery process.
  • Train to circulate for C-sections with support from our OB surgical technicians.
  • Educate patients and families throughout their experience.
  • Collaborate closely with providers and the multidisciplinary care team.
  • Maintain accurate documentation while following safety, infection prevention and HIPAA standards.


What You'll Bring

  • Current Montana RN license or compact RN license authorized to practice in Montana.
  • Previous Labor & Delivery or LDRP experience required.
  • Only directly relevant obstetric nursing experience will be considered for experience-based placement.
  • BSN preferred.
  • ACLS and NRP within six months of hire.
  • STABLE and EFM within one year of hire.
  • RQI Provider BLS within seven days of hire or before providing independent patient care.
  • Additional certifications as required for the role.
  • Strong clinical judgment and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

JOB DESCRIPTION " Position Summary The Registered Nurse is a member of the interdisciplinary team working in collaboration with the Physician. The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing care process consistent with their license and/or certification including initiation of culturally competent continuum of care including inpatient, outpatient and community settings. The Registered Nurse is responsible to oversee any necessary coordination of the interdisciplinary plan of care and provides for its consistency with the medical treatment plan. The patient care process includes: Assessment - an orderly process consisting of the identification, gathering and organization of subjective and objective data pertaining to the patient/family/significant other, including physical, psychosocial, spiritual and cultural. Planning - an organized step in the process that consists of the identification of actual or potential problems and desired outcomes (goals) that result in a documented plan of care. The plan of care provides direction for the patient/family/significant other and interdisciplinary team. Intervention - the specific interventions or orders that are implemented consistent with the plan of care and medical treatment plan. Evaluation - a step in the process that involves determining the effectiveness of the interventions in achieving the plan of care and determining the conclusions concerning the achievement or lack of achievement of desired outcomes. The evaluation may initiate the need for reassessment and revisions to the problems, goals, plan of care, and interventions. This step provides for documentation of required actions. Based upon findings identified during assessment and reassessment: Patients have problems identified and prioritized relative to biophysical, psychological, environmental, self care, educational and social status. Able to assess neonate at delivery and perform neonatal resuscitation according to current guidelines. Will complete newborn resuscitation competency within 90 days of hire and recertify quarterly. 4. Able to perform vitals and initial admission and head-to-toe assessments on infants and adults and reassessments as per policy. 5. Implements a teaching plan based on identified learning need and evaluates effectiveness of learning. (Family is included as appropriate). 6. Able to formulate an individualized plan of care, revise plan as indicted by the patient’s response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness. 7. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to the patients served. Able to interpret data about the patient’s status in order to identify each patient’s age specific needs and provide care needed by the patient group. 8. Communicates appropriately any patient care issues and current assessment clearly to charge nurse, co-workers and providers. 9. Consults other departments as appropriate to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient’s needs. 10. Coordinates and supervises patient care, as necessary.
