MedStar Harbor Hospital is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse to join our Certified Baby-Friendly Women’s Health Unit. We are committed to promoting evidence-based maternity care, supporting breastfeeding success, and delivering exceptional, family-centered experiences.

 

We offer flexible scheduling options to support work-life balance, including straight day or night shifts, rotating weekend schedule (every third weekend), minimal on-call requirements



Unit Description

 

15-bed unit, part of our Certified Baby-Friendly Women's Health Unit, mothers enjoy spacious, private L&D rooms. Choose the schedule that suits you best with straight shifts, including day or evening shifts, featuring three 12-hour shifts per week and a rotating weekend schedule (every 3rd weekend) with minimal on-call duties.

 

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs—from routine to highly complex. You will assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans. Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team

Qualifications

  • ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
  • Prior Clinical Nursing Experience preferred.
  • Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross).

These activities include onboarding/orientation competency management education professional role development career coaching and collaborative partnerships. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Assessment Planning and Implementation: Plans develops and coordinates orientation programs for all new nursing personnel assigned to clinical areas; develops coordinates implements or assists with continuing staff development programs for nursing and nursing support staff. Identifies learning needs of new nursing/support staff in collaboration with team members based on area of expertise and in accordance with hospital policy and regulatory standards.
