Qualifications for HICU® Health Services Hospital at Home ICU Nurses:


  • Have a current license as a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Have a least one year of verifiable work experience as an LPN
  • NICU, PICU, ICU, or home care trach/vent experience with infants/young pediatrics required (1 year)
  • Demonstrated competence in infusion and tracheostomy/ventilator care (demonstrated in home or lab)

Assists with medication refill requests following provider-approved protocols and under appropriate supervision. Performs phlebotomy (where permitted by state regulations and facility policies). Provides patient education on prescribed follow-ups, medications, and therapies, and reinforces provider-directed instructions. Assists, as needed, with phone triage under RN or provider supervision. Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A Qualities & Skills: Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette. Strong attention to detail. Critical thinking skills.
