Cincinnati Children’s is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse II/ III – Charge RN to join our growing ambulatory outreach team at our Liberty Township location. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced pediatric nurse who enjoys providing exceptional patient care while also serving as a clinical leader and resource for the ambulatory team.

As a Charge RN, you will help support daily clinic operations, promote safe and efficient patient flow, and serve as a clinical resource for nurses and the interdisciplinary care team. This role is patient-facing and plays an important part in ensuring children and families receive compassionate, coordinated, and high-quality care close to home.

Clinic schedules may vary by division, with some clinics beginning earlier or ending later based on patient care needs.

Access is a key organizational priority, and clinic schedules may evolve to support access and the needs of our patients and families. Flexibility in daily clinic hours will be important as we continue to expand and optimize ambulatory services.

Key Responsibilities

As the CVH Charge RN, you will:

  • Provide high-quality, patient-centered pediatric nursing care.
  • Serve as a clinical leader and resource for the ambulatory nursing team.
  • Support daily clinic operations, patient flow, staffing, and assignment needs.
  • Assist with coordinating care and resolving clinical or operational barriers.
  • Promote safe, efficient, and timely patient care throughout the clinic day.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, medical assistants, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Support staff with clinical questions, patient care concerns, and escalation of issues.
  • Help ensure appropriate communication and coordination across ambulatory divisions.
  • Promote consistent nursing practice and adherence to Cincinnati Children’s standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Support onboarding, orientation, education, and development of nursing/medical assistant staff as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, patient access, quality, and the overall patient and family experience.
  • Adapt to changing clinic volumes and patient care needs in support of the organization's access goals.
  • Float to Green, Mason, Centerville or where staffing needs require additional support.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • RN II or RN III
  • Current RN licensure in the state of Ohio – will need multistate licensure for KY.
  • Experience providing pediatric nursing care.
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership or charge nurse experience.
  • Strong communication, organization, critical thinking, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to provide flexible scheduling support as clinic hours evolve to meet patient access needs.

Preferred:

  • Previous ambulatory pediatric nursing experience.
  • Previously, nurse or clinical leadership experience.
  • Experience working across multiple pediatric specialties or ambulatory settings.
