As a level-one trauma center, our procedures encompass a wide range of acuity in the following surgical sub-specialties: General surgery, Neuro surgery, Otolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Oral surgery, Orthopedics, Plastic surgery, Urology, GYN, and Dermatology. Patients range in age from neonates to young adults with a 1:1 nurse to patient ratio. The operating room department is complimented by instrument processing specialists, orderlies and administrative assistants. We also work side by side with attending physicians, fellows, residents, and our anesthesia team to provide extraordinary care for our pediatric surgical patients daily. Critical care registered nurses provide illness management and health promotion for patients and families who require intensive care. Critical care registered staff nurses utilize the nursing process and knowledge of scientific principles to provide safe, high quality, comprehensive, and age appropriate nursing care for their assigned patients in the intensive care areas of the hospital.
