Job Responsibilities

  • Providing resident-focused, high-quality care while working as a RN in post-acute facilities
  • Developing individualized care plans for residents in coordination with the wider medical team
  • Reviewing care options with clinicians, nursing staff, residents, and their family members
  • Setting up and using medical equipment and devices as needed for effective care
  • Administering medications and providing treatments to residents consistent with their care plan
  • Measuring and monitoring resident vital signs and drawing fluids as needed for labs and testing
  • Ensuring accurate documentation of relevant information such as interventions and responses, vital signs, and resident medical histories
  • Training and supervising nursing professionals and support staff as needed, consistent with scope of practice limitations
  • Supporting staff with incident investigations and reporting

Qualifications and Skills

  • Current Massachusetts state license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN)

Dialysis Center- Registered Nurse - Per Diem

Provides general and/or specialized nursing care to patients with Acute and Chronic Kidney Disease or Apheresis needs in the ambulatory and inpatient setting. Provides nursing care to patients and families in the Dialysis and Infusion Center in accordance with the ANA standards of practice of a professional nurse, Connecticut Children’s policies and procedures, SCOPE dialysis protocols and State and federal regulations. Utilizes a primary nurse model. Reports to Nurse Manager of the Dialysis Center. CLINICAL PRACTICE - Demonstrates clinical expertise and uses the nursing process to provide safe, appropriate patient care. Prioritizes, plans, provides holistic family-centered care to patients within area of service throughout the continuum of care utilizing time and resources effectively and efficiently.
