In this role, the CNA is responsible to provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants in accordance with state and federal standards. This position reports to the Director of Memory Care. Schedule: Part Time | All shifts available ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Assist patients/residents with Daily Living Activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, transfer, ambulation, toileting and other resident needs. Ensure the following tasks are completed daily: beds are made; trash has been removed from the room, that meals are served to residents and maintain a high level of hygiene in the room. Observe and document residents’ self-administration of medications, ensuring compliance with prescribed regimens and promptly reporting any irregularities or concerns to the nurse. Take and record vital signs; report any changes in resident conditions to the nurse. Practice Infection Prevention and Control measures in compliance with Federal, State and Facility requirements. QUALIFICATIONS: CNA License in accordance with laws of Florida. Medical Technician Certified-Med Tech Must be CPR Certified Experience and Basic Knowledge: Working with older adults in a healthcare setting is desirable, preferably a minimum of 6 months. Required Skills: Ability to provide direct patient care while maintaining dignity, privacy, and respect. Ability to assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding. Ability to read, write and speak the English language and understand and follow written and oral directions. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to transfer, lift, reposition, and assist residents safely using proper body mechanics and equipment. Check residents’ restraints and releases to allow for activity and reapply restraints as ordered. Take and record vital signs. Straighten residents’ rooms and closets and clean inside of bedside tables. Clean and return resident care equipment to appropriate areas. Remove soiled linen, rinse in the hopper and transport dirty linens to laundry. Label residents’ clothes and put away residents’ clean clothes. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 18 years of age. Completion of high school education or otherwise show ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions. Must be certified in the state where applying or have successfully completed CNA training from a state approved school and obtain certification within the first four (4) months of employment. Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance as required. Must be able to work weekend and overtime as required. Must meet all local health regulations and pass postemployment exam, if required.
