Position Summary Assists professional nursing staff by performing specific resident care tasks, within the scope of practice from Certified Nursing Assistant. Qualifications Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Training and Experience: Listed with Texas Department of Nurse Aid Registry (or acquire within 1 year of hire or transfer from another department). Current BLS certification required through American Heart Association within 90 days of hire. Successful completion of hospital orientation within 3 months of hire. Complete the following competencies within 3 months of hire or transfer from another department. Patient transfers Patient transport Aseptic technique Lab specimens / order entry Unit safety Body substance isolation Role in Code Blue Supply processing and ordering Stocking of PACU Assist with patient admission to PACU VI. Unusual Physical Demands And Working Conditions Ability to perform: Heavy lifting Sustained standing and walking Work under stress Varied work hours and shifts May encounter exposure to infectious diseases.
