Position Title: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse - 13-week contract Estimated Pay Package: $2,000 (including stipend) Shift Time: 6:45p-7:15a Job Description: The NICU Registered Nurse provides specialized care for premature and critically ill newborns. This involves assessing infants' conditions, administering treatments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standard of care in a high-acuity environment. The NICU RN plays a crucial role in monitoring vital signs, managing complex medical needs, and supporting families during critical moments. Key Responsibilities: Continuously monitor and assess neonates in the NICU for changes in condition. Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and feeding protocols as directed by physicians. Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to develop and evaluate individualized care plans for each infant. Educate parents and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and ongoing infant health needs. Document all aspects of patient care accurately in electronic health records. Participate in emergency situations, performing necessary interventions and stabilizing patients. Maintain compliance with infection control protocols and safety regulations. Qualifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in Neonatal Intensive Care or equivalent critical care experience. Current BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications are required. Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to respond to emergencies effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with families and healthcare teams. Ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced settings while maintaining a focus on patient-centered care.
