The Medical Assistant (MA) 3 will perform multi-skilled tasks to assist the medical providers. Assists providers with physical examinations by preparing treatment/exam room with proper supplies, instruments, and materials, as directed. 11. Perform vital signs, EKG, phlebotomy, and document in patient’s medical record. 13. Cleans and/or sterilizes medical instruments while observing principles of sterile technique. Schedules patients for tests and completes required forms for laboratory work. 14. Maintains accurate and complete patient records and documentation. Also maintain the DME accurate log of the orthopedic DME that we have in stock. Enter the radiology x-ray charges. Order medical supplies from different vendors in workday. The medical assistant will also take used orthopedic tools up to the operating room to be sterilized by central sterilization team at Uhealth towers. The medical assistant 3 will also learn how to schedule and view appointments in Uchart to confirm patient's appointments. Also, will be responsible for training new employees that are hired in the role of medical assistants for the orthopedic department. Specific functions are competency based.
