Our typical population includes, but is not limited to, geriatrics, substance abuse, acute and chronic infections, organ failures, behavior and psychiatric patients, and a little bit of everything else. 9 East Doan has a wide variety of patients which helps equip our nurses with the most up to day clinical practices and knowledge. We typically work alongside hospitalist MDs as our primary service which cultivates a close collaborative relationship between out doctors and nurses. 9 East Doan is a 23 bed unit and the nurses typically take 4 patient assignments while working with PCAs who take 11 patient assignments. We are a new unit created 5 years ago and pioneered the dedicated education unit clinical model for the College of Nursing here at OSU. We are always looking for new engaged staff to build our units culture and help us provide the most excellent care possible here at OSUWMC.
