Position Summary The Morning/Midday CNA will deliver supportive care and companionship during the afternoon hours. This role is ideal for caregivers who prefer a predictable morning and midday schedule and enjoy running errands, providing companionship, and assisting with household and personal care tasks. Responsibilities Assist with afternoon ADLs and toileting, as needed Run errands or accompany clients to appointments, as needed Perform light housekeeping tasks (laundry, dishes, tidy-up) Prepare snacks or early dinner prep Engage clients in conversation, games, or meaningful activities Document all tasks via AxisCare Communicate schedule needs or client concerns promptly Arrive within the assigned timeframe of the shift Expect to commute at least 20-30 minutes Mileage is reimbursed for client errands/transportation and travel between Client homes Qualifications Strong interpersonal and communication skills Reliable transportation Experience with ADLs and homemaker tasks preferred Ability to maintain client privacy and dignity North Carolina CNAs will start at $17/hour; certification must be current and not expired. Overview The Nurse Midwife (CNM) will work under the general supervision of their Medical Director, all physician partners, and their APP Manager, in WakeMed Physician Practices to deliver competent midwifery care to patients at WakeMed. Nurses here usually have a 1:3 to 1:5 ratio during the day, and 1:5 on night shifts. This unit is part of Duke University Hospital's innovation initiative, designed to redefine care delivery by integrating cutting-edge technologies that enhance patient outcomes, streamline workflows, and improve operational efficiency. Units 2100, 3100, and 4100 at Duke North are piloting smart room capabilities, automated signage, and virtual access for care teams and families. Future enhancements include predictive tools for fall prevention and ambient listening for documentation. Staff foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, collaborating across departments to explore solutions like expedited medication delivery, all aimed at improving the patient experience and reducing length of stay. Shift Preference: Weekend Position (Day or Night Shift) *Must work Saturday / Sunday and one week day shift Duties and Responsibilities of this Level Plan, provide and document professional nursing care, utilizing the nursing process, in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures under the supervision of the team leader or charge nurse. Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of other licensed and unlicensed care providers. Assist other healthcare personnel in the delivery of patient care. Participate in maintaining the environment of care including equipment and material resources. Prioritize work organization and identify resources available to assist in completing components of care in a timely manner. Participate in own professional development by maintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropriate assistance or educational offerings. Support the development of other staff and formal learners. Participate in the identification of clinical or operational performance improvement opportunities and assist in performance improvement activities. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. Required Qualifications at this Level Education Graduation from an accredited Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or higher), Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program is required. All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within seven years of their start date. Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required. Experience: No experience required. All CNIs will be enrolled in and must complete the DUHS Nurse Residency Program within 12 months of hire. CNIs are required to meet criteria set forth by the DUHS Nurse Residency Program within 18 months of hire to be promoted to CNII.
