The successful candidate should be able to perform ALL of the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the actual job performance requirements. Apply appropriate nursing skills in the area and treatment of inmates/residents. Attend sick call with the physician to see inmates/residents; prepare a list of inmates/residents to be examined; prepare examining room and equipment Examine and assess new inmates/residents with illnesses or injuries or inmates/residents who become ill or injured; refer inmates/residents to the emergency room or other appropriate healthcare facilities as required by their condition. Perform emergency procedures as needed and notify Licensed Independent Provider for treatment orders. Provide guidance, supervise and monitor nursing care provided by licensed vocational/practical nursing staff and non-licensed medical staff. Qualifications: Graduate from an accredited college, university or nursing program with a degree/diploma in nursing. Must possess current licensure in the state of employment. One (1) year of professional nursing experience preferred. A valid driver's license is required. Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Nurse (RN or LPN) near T orreon, NM , to provide patient care in accordance with a physician-established care plan. This is a 1099 contract opportunity , with care provided at the patient’s residence. The patient requires 24 hours of daily nursing care. We are looking for AM and PM shifts on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Each shift is 12-hours. Once patients are accepted into the program, there is no expiration for this benefit, allowing our caregivers to build lasting relationships with their patients for years to come. In this role, you will advocate for the patients and work one-on-one to deliver the care they need. You will collaborate with CNAs, HHAs, Case Managers, and the patient’s physicians. Offers are contingent upon passing a background check. #INDNM \n Responsibilities: Execute physician prescribed plans of care. Complete compliant documentation of the care provided in the system of record. Manage and administer prescribed medication, treatment, and therapies. Conduct patient assessments, coordination of care. Perform various activities associated with daily living. Monitor vitals and GI intake and output. Assess skin integrity and administer wound care. Monitor for changes in the patient’s condition such as weight loss/gain, self-care abilities, and indicators of disease progression. Communicate with family members, physicians, case managers, and other prescribed individuals regarding the health of the patients. Provide education and training to the patient, their family, and/or the Home Health Aide. Work with patients to be done one-on-one in the patients home to provide for a comfortable environment. Collaborate with and supervise Certified Nursing Assistants and Personal Care Attendants. Perform other personal care services as necessary to meet the patient’s needs. Minimum Qualifications: Education, licensing, and certification: graduate of an accredited college or university, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing Current State or Compact License as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Current CPR certification TB test and physical examination. Maintain required insurance. Good interpersonal skills. Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move patients. Ability to operate under stressful conditions and make quick decisions. Must have dependable transportation and be willing to commute to the patient’s home. Ability to provide basic medical management up to medically fragile end of life care. Preferred Qualifications: 1+ years of experience as an RN/LPN in a clinical or home health setting.
