The central characteristic of perioperative care is teamwork. The surgical team must work together seamlessly to ensure patient safety and the success of the surgery. Responsibilities include being a partner in the care management team, providing coordination and management of patient care to pediatric patients and families within a continuum of care and delegating patient activities as appropriate within a care management assignment. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing in order to meet the recommended entry level for a professional nurse (or equivalent academic and/or professional experience). A license to practice professional nursing in the State of Wisconsin. Candidates must show proof of license on or before first day of employment. Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required. Hours: 12 hour nights schedule: 7pm-7:15am Wednesday & Thursday These positions also requires weekday, weekend and holiday call requirements (must report to the hospital within 30 mins). Orientation will be Monday through Friday from 6:50am until 3:20pm with off shift rotation. Must be able to orientate full time for 6 months. What You Will Do: The NNP manages critically ill neonatal patients using collaboration, consultation and direct care. Independent practice of NNPs occurs in the specialized NICU at our newly implemented couplet care birthing unit at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital. The NNP collaborates with neonatologists at our Level 3 NICU at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. The NNP is involved with the ongoing education of nursing staff, residents, and students. Maintains credentials with procedural privileges through the medical staff offices at WMH and OMH. What You Will Do: The clinical nurse is a competent practitioner who integrates theoretical knowledge with clinical experience in the care of patients and families. Care is delivered using a deliberate, systematic approach and practices are guided by increasing awareness of patterns of patient responses in recurrent situations. These nurses demonstrate mastery of most technical skills, and begin to view clinical situations from a patient and family focus as they provide professional nursing care within clinical areas/campuses as required by staffing matrices. These nurses also supervise and direct delegated nursing acts commensurate with educational preparation and demonstrated abilities of the person supervised. What You Will Need: Associates degree of nursing is required.
