Overview The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will be responsible for providing premium primary medical care services to a wide variety of patients. Participates with the physician(s) in the evaluation and management of patient care, as a member of the patients' care team. Performs procedures, suturing, wound care, and infection management, while thoroughly documenting such in the patient's medical record. Thoroughly and concisely documents in the patient's medical record all patient contact encounters, progress notes, orders, prescriptions, test results, and patient instructions according to standard medical practice guidelines and to support appropriate billing practices, in a timely manner. Educates and encourages patients to become active participants in their own healthcare-related behavior and provides patient education materials related to diagnosis, treatment plans, and need for follow-up care, for use in encouraging wellness Provides support for vacation coverage by responding to patient calls, patient portal messages, prescription requests, and follow up to test results. Able to provide telephone call coverage, as requested. Participates and contributes to quality reporting metrics, as indicated and appropriate.
