The Norfolk Regional Center (NRC) was created by an act of the Nebraska Legislature in 1885. NRC currently serves two distinct populations of adult males who are committed by a Mental Health Board for inpatient psychiatric treatment. In 2006, NRC began providing treatment to individuals who have sexually offended. The Nebraska Sex Offender (SO) Treatment Program improves public safety by reducing the risk of re-offense, while also improving the quality of patients' lives. In 2018, NRC opened the Medical Support Program and began providing high quality nursing and medical treatment for men with significant physical conditions and a variety of psychiatric, cognitive, and aging issues. The program provides activities designed to maintain optimal functioning while at the same time meeting the specific psychiatric care and safety needs of each patient. You have the passion, we have the opportunities – let’s make a difference for Nebraskans Licensed Practical Nurses perform duties within scope of practice including: • Medication administration • Documentation • Initiate therapeutic interactions with patients • Perform treatments • Transcribe doctor's orders • Evaluate physical health and emotional status of patients • Perform assigned patient education • Complete order entry • Supply inventory and ordering; use of electronic medical record. • Will be a contributing member of the interdisciplinary treatment team delivering holistic and individualized care to patients Starting Pay Rate: $40.00/hour. Additional $3/hour facility differential pay, plus additional shift differential pay. Work Schedule: PRN/On-call position available, must work minimum of 16 hours per month. Requirements / Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: A current license to practice as a licensed practical nurse in Nebraska or authority based on the Nurse Licensure Compact to practice as a licensed practical nurse in Nebraska is required. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge or experience working with patients with mental illness or psychiatric disorders.
