Make an impact—front desk to triage At American Family Care, our PRN Medical Assistants keep our urgent care centers running smoothly by blending clinical skill with patient registration and insurance verification expertise. In this flexible role, you’ll pick up at least 4 shifts per month (with the option for more), supporting centers when patient volumes rise or coverage is needed. This is a perfect fit if you’re looking for supplemental income, flexible scheduling, or part-time hours while still making a direct impact in urgent care. What you’ll do Clinical Care: Greet and triage patients, collect vitals/histories, perform venipuncture and CLIA-waived point-of-care testing (COVID, flu, strep, glucose, A1C, UA, etc.), assist with minor procedures, wound care, EKGs, and nebulizer therapy. Insurance Verification & Front Desk: Register patients, verify insurance eligibility, determine financial responsibility, collect co-pays, reconcile payment logs, and maintain EMR accuracy. Patient Service: Educate patients on both clinical procedures and financial expectations, provide clear discharge instructions, and de-escalate concerns with empathy and professionalism. Team & Compliance: Participate in daily huddles, maintain compliance logs (crash cart, fridge temps, etc.), support infection-control and HIPAA standards. What We’re Looking For Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program. Active national MA certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) at hire. At least 1+ year of experience with insurance verification and patient registration required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or ability to obtain before starting). Urgent care or emergency room experience highly valued. EMR proficiency (Experity preferred); comfort with payer portals (e.g., Waystar). Proven venipuncture and specimen collection skills. Additional requirements Must successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check as a condition of employment. Full availability including ability to work evenings/weekends and float to nearby centers as needed. Overview The Clinical Informaticist is responsible to collaborate with operational leaders, patient care teams (Quality, Medication Safety, PI, etc.), as well as IT and other Informatics teams to develop, implement, and coordinate standardization of information systems policies and procedures to promote the safe, efficient, and optimal use of the information systems. The Clinical Informaticist will collaborate with the Clinical Informatics Manager and CCIO to coordinate and facilitate workflow and process improvements in relation to IT systems in order to enhance the effectiveness of clinical applications. The Clinical Informaticist will participate in organizational committees and serve as an expert Informatics resource, providing guidance and perspective on the design and development of information systems to ensure that implementations support and enhance patient care, as well as the organization’s operational and strategic priorities. The Clinical Informaticist is responsible for providing initial training of clinical applications to new medical staff physicians, resident physicians, locum physicians, mid-level providers, and medical students, as well as continuing education/training for all providers and super-users. Overview DCH Health System is proud to offer Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Service at both our Regional and Northport Campuses. We specialize in the critical care of neonates and infants in our 21 bed unit at DCH Regional and 18 bed unit at Northport Medical Center. Our team of Neonatologists , Neonatal nurse practitioners, Neonatal nursing staff, NICU dedicated Respiratory Therapist, and NICU dedicated pharmacist provide in house care 24-7. Overview DCH Health System is proud to offer Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Service at both our Regional and Northport Campuses. We specialize in the critical care of neonates and infants in our 21 bed unit at DCH Regional and 18 bed unit at Northport Medical Center. Overview Our Pre-Admission Testing Unit provides pre-procedural assessment, evaluation, diagnostic testing, and education for patients once they have been scheduled for a procedure by their physician’s office. The PAT team communicates with and works collaboratively with physicians and anesthesia providers to optimize patients prior to their procedure. PCU is the only 24/7 acute care unit on the NMC campus that specializes in medical and surgical care and can accommodate up to 36 patients.
