Demonstrates knowledge of common formats for correspondence and reports. Accurately opens, sorts and routes mail. Prepares daily paperwork and distributes in a timely manner. Responsible for patient courtesy area (ie. replace magazines, maintain clean/neat appearance, ensures water cooler refilled). Completes dept/hospital required competencies as required. Attends mandatory facility meeting as required. Attends department meetings as required. Performs breath and/or urine substance abuse testing in accordance with established policies/procedures and ensure appropriate disposition of specimen via lab or courier pick up. Escorts patient required diagnostic testing in other hospital departments to those areas when necessary in a safe and courteous manner. Transports urine, blood or other biologic specimens to lab following established policies/procedures. Communicates appropriate patient information via phone, fax, or email to services coordination, employers, or insurance agents for purposes of return to work, continuum of care, and/or reimbursement. LPN/RN Job Description: Provide bedside care to patients including personal hygiene maintenance Record the patients’ vital signs (including blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rate) Collect patient’s health information Relay information between patients, registered nurses, and physicians Give oral medications and injections to patients Test a patient’s blood sugar levels Urinary catheter insertion and care Assist patients with personal hygiene Monitor for changes in patients Proper charting, documentation, and maintenance of patient’s medical records Asks questions when in doubt for clarification by the Registered Nurse.
