Overview Works under the supervision of Registered Nurse in care of the patients and their environment (including those needing special precautions) and performs specified treatments. What you will do Under the supervision of the RN, partners with patients and families to implement plan of care, treatments and procedures that contribute to the physiological and psychosocial outcomes of the patient. Incorporates evidence-based standards of practice. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team in the coordination of care. Facilitates safe patient transitions to the next care setting as part of plan of care. Demonstrates a sense of urgency to facilitate patient throughput to assure patients receive consistent, competent, and ethical care. Focuses on quality outcomes of patient care when addressing customer’s needs to include current evidence based practice and quality measures. Demonstrates effective nursing skills (vitals, blood sugars, administering treatments and medications) in completing task accurately and efficiently. Follows protocols and physician orders. Able to perform phlebotomy. Demonstrates understanding of diverse patient care populations and ability to modify educational approach to ensure patient/family comprehension. Evaluates for patient comprehension and documents response. Demonstrates the ability to build trusting collaborative relationships with peers and multi-disciplinary team to support patient care needs. Accurately completes all required clinical and quality documentation consistently per RHS standards and regulatory requirements. Demonstrates task prioritization appropriately to facilitate quality patient care and ensure patient care needs are met. Able to recognize and respond to emergency situations. Evaluates own needs for support and uses identified systems/resources to obtain assistance. Summary GENERAL SUMMARY The Office LPN performs a wide variety of patient care activities and accommodative services to support the medical practice. Reports to department leadership. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Demonstrates excellence in nursing practice characterized by quality patient care and participation in formal and informal patient and staff education. Provides developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care. Performs other duties and tasks as assigned. LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS Current State license as a Practical Nurse (LPN) or Practical Nurse holding a valid Compact State license. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice. Pediatric experience preferred. CPR training required or must be obtained within 45 days of hire. Must provide record of a completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript for those areas performing complexity testing.
