Per Diem APRN/PA Hospitalist

Overview New London Hospital is seeking per diem advanced practice providers (APRN or PA) with prior hospital medicine or critical care medicine background to join our Hospital Medicine Team. Primarily night shift coverage, but occasional day coverage shifts available as well. Primary responsibilities include independently rounding on acute/swing/custodial patients, performing ED admissions, and responding to medical emergencies. The candidate will join a team of physicians and advanced practice providers who focus on delivering exceptional inpatient care. New London Hospital does have a Special Care Unit (SCU) which serves as a step-down unit, but performing procedures or ventilation management is not required. Providers must maintain ACLS credentialing. This position offers flexible shift work that allows for improved work-life balance. Benefits include comprehensive health insurance, malpractice insurance, generous CME allowance, 403b matching, and more. Nights are 14 hour shifts. Weekdays are 10 hour shifts. Weekend days are 6 hour shifts. New London Hospital is a critical access hospital located in New London, New Hampshire and a member of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health System. New London Hospital features 25 inpatient medical-surgical beds which includes 4 SCU beds. Specialty services include general surgery and orthopedics. We are currently seeking Wound Care Nurse Practitioners to provide wound services to patients living in long-term care facilities. WOUND NP ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities. Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with NH Law. Order, review, and/or follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing. Communicate with the nursing home staff on a regular and as needed to discuss changes in condition. and/or the care plan. Collaborate with the primary care physician. WOUND NP QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of New Hampshire. Board Certification. DEA licensure (Optional) Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties. Clinical background of wound care; including but not limited to chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds Must be comfortable with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers. Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP Must be familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc. Must have experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving/ reducing devices Strong preference to having wound certification or be open to getting certified Experience working in a long-term care setting. Ability to work with an EMR. Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
