Plans and implements recruitment procedures, manages enrollment of the trial, and ensures compliance with protocols. The Oncology Research Nurse Specialist 2 ensures the integrity, quality, and compliance of clinical research trials under occasional guidance. This role is responsible for planning and implementing participant recruitment strategies, managing study enrollment, and ensuring adherence to research protocols and regulatory requirements. The RNS2 collaborates closely with IT and clinical stakeholders to design, build, validate, and optimize chemotherapy order plans within the Epic, supporting the accurate and efficient execution of oncology research protocols. This position is non-patient-facing and does not involve direct clinical facing responsibilities. Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm CST . Preferred Skills & Experience: · 1+ year of Oncology experience · 1+ year of research experience · Ability to analyze, interpret, navigate and deconstruct clinical trial protocols · Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors in documents · Extremely detail oriented · Nursing experience · Proficiency in leveraging technology and digital tools · EPIC experience KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Possesses knowledge and understanding of policies, procedures, and regulations governing human subject's research and incorporation of them in the conduct of research and care of participants. • Proficiently prepares and processes new research proposals, amendments, continuing review applications and adverse events. • Perform administrative duties for trials, including but not limited to: Procuring equipment, preparing documentation, and packaging and shipping medications. • Utilize nursing skills to perform procedures, deliver individualized care, and abide by research protocols. If problems arise, identify and implement solutions, assuring goals are met. • Performs the procedures required of each study protocol, understanding standard of care versus research. Continually assesses the need for additional protections for research participants. • Recruit and identify the eligibility of candidates, regularly assessing them to ensure continued eligibility for participation. Organization: Radiation Oncology Job Summary: The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) plays a vital role in delivering specialized care and managing the health needs of patients in either inpatient, ambulatory, or a combination of both settings. With advanced training and expertise, the APP focuses on subspecialized care, including chronic illness and disease management, ensuring continuity of care throughout the patient’s healthcare journey, which may span multiple years. DEPARTMENT SUMMARY We provide multidisciplinary, state of the art therapy that utilizes techniques such as stereotactic radiosurgery, intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), three dimensional treatment planning, brachytherapy, and intraoperative radiation therapy at five convenient locations. We are dedicated to improving treatment outcomes of all diseases treated with radiation and to finding new medical uses of radiation. Related to these goals is the education of graduate students, post-doctoral students and residents who will enter the field of radiation medicine including the allied field of Medical Physics. Our team provides state-of-the-art anti-cancer therapy for patients through the use of new technology and continuous review of patient treatment outcome. We will continue to evaluate and improve the therapeutic effects of radiation from five fronts: Basic science research to identify new biological modifiers and therapeutic targets. Interaction with industry (pharmaceutical, imaging and radiotherapy) to validate the efficacy of new therapeutic tools Medical physics research to improve the accuracy, precision and methods of radiotherapy delivery Clinical research to study the benefits of new therapy treatments in patients POSITION SHIFT Location: Lebanon 4 days in clinic, 1 administrative day No call, weekends or holidays KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Obtains and documents a health history; performs and documents complete, system-focused, or symptom-specific physical examination, assessment and plan of care.
