Responsibilities Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8, 10 or 12 hour dayshifts as needed between 6:45am and 7:15pm Occassional overtime On-Call rotation, including weekend call required, with minimal call-back Coverage Period: On-call coverage is required 24/7, including weekdays, nights, weekends, and federal holidays. The on-call period typically runs from 1915 to 0645 on weekdays and for 24-hour periods on weekends and holidays. Response Time: While on call, the contract worker must be able to respond and report to the facility within 30 minutes of notification. In-House On-Call: If a contract worker must remain at the facility during their on-call shift due to personal limitations (e.g., lives outside the 30-minute radius), those hours will be billed as on-call hours, not overage hours. Job Specific Position Duties: This position will support the Operating Room. Core duties include, but are not limited to the following: Provides professional nursing care to patients undergoing Prepares and maintains operating room for all surgical procedures. Establishes and utilizes a checklist to monitor the physical plan of the operating room and equipment for conformity to all national standards for ensuring safety for the patient and all personnel. Assembles the type and quantity of material and special equipment needed for daily procedures and possible emergencies. Circulates for surgical Responds to surgical emergency requirements such as cardiac, pulmonary, or respiratory failure and hemorrhage. Maintains open communication lines, both interdepartmentally and interdepartmentally, to provide for total needs of the patient. Conducts preoperative and postoperative Discusses operative procedures with patients and informs them of what to expect during surgery. Consults with the operating surgeon and establishes priorities of care for each patient entering the operating suite. Coordinates with other hospital units, which include recovery room, intensive care, obstetrics, and nursing units, on patients, progress and any special equipment or supplies that will be needed for the patient returning from surgery.Clinically directs and instructs personnel in preparing, sterilizing, and caring for operating room equipment and Maintains concise and complete records and reports. Coordinates an ongoing, in-service education program to continually update knowledge and skills of all assigned operating room nursing personnel. Initiate, perform, and complete assigned duties in providing care to variable patient populations based upon the assessed needs of the patient and in relation to the proposed Complete assigned patient care based on the patients’ conditions, use judgment in selecting the appropriate order and sequence of procedures and treatments, and accurately recognize, report and record relevant patient information. Observe, identify, and respond to the patient’s needs for care, including medication, equipment-assisted care, and patient/family education. Provides perioperative nursing care, for all types of patients admitted to the surgical suite for surgical intervention. Includes elective, urgent and emergency procedures on patients of all ages. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for all patients including newborns, children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly; disabled to include visually and hearing impaired; and individuals of varying ethnic, and religious backgrounds to include those who do not speak or understand English. Participates and complies with quality and process improvement activities, meetings, and events to ensure compliance with national standards and guidelines. Knowledge of a variety of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment, the desired effects, side effects, and complications of their use as well as the accurate administration of the pharmacologic agent, including dosage calculations as required. Knowledge of the administrative requirements for proper documentation of patient’s condition including disease progress, acknowledgement of teaching, and follow up Knowledgeable of laboratory test Prepare and administer prescribed medications (oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular and/or intravenous) to include blood and blood products and perform treatments according to established policies/procedures. Adheres to perioperative, infection control and safety policies and Safely operates and monitors specialized therapeutic and resuscitative Skilled in setting up, operating, and monitoring specialized medical equipment such as IV infusion pumps, cardiac monitoring devices, EKG units, oxygen analyzers, nebulizers, and other unit specific equipment. Effectively communicates and collaborates with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization. Effectively uses appropriate communication format in addressing professional issues. Completes orientation and competency verification programs in accordance with (IAW) unit guidelines. Ensures a safe work environment, employee safe work habits and patient safety IAW regulatory agencies, infection control policies, and process improvement initiatives. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: * Degree/Education: Bachelor’s Degree of Nursing. Graduate from an accredited college or university approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). * Experience: A minimum of 12 months of experience is mandatory in operating room assignments. Experience must include all phases of operating room technique such as preparing operating room units, preparing patients for surgery, assisting medical officer during surgery, conducting instrument and equipment sterilization procedures, and assisting anesthesia provider with post anesthesia recovery if PACU or ICU not available. * Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse from any state * Life Support Certification: BLS/ACLS/PALS from American Red Cross or American Health Association. * Security: Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance. Growing together The Behavioral Health Case Manager will be responsible for the management and coordination of Case Management services for members with complex needs and requiring complex service. The Outpatient Case Manager works directly with the member, provider(s), facilities, and other entities to ensure the most appropriate care is provided. The Case Manager manages members from all contracted product lines. The Case Manager assesses, plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates the outcomes, ensuring options and services required to meet the member's health needs are best utilized.
