Surgical RN Position Summary The Surgical RN in Endoscopy p rovides nursing care for patients before, during, and after procedures. The care provided by this talented team helps diagnose disease, prevents cancer, and can assist or prevent surgical intervention. The Surgical RN in Endoscopy assists with many types of outpatient screening, therapeutic, and emergent procedures. Examples include: GI (upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, EUS, ERCP) and Pulmonary (bronchoscopy, EBUS, rigid bronchoscopy, pleuroscopy, pleurodesis). Advanced nursing procedures include esophageal motility and manometry, capsule endoscopy, peg placement. The Endoscopy unit has 3 procedure rooms, 5 preop bays and 6 recovery bays. Surgical RN Position Requirements Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse. Must hold a license in the state of permanent residency. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within the first 6 months of employment Certified Gastroenterology RN preferred within 2 years One year of acute experience required Endoscopy experience preferred, training agreement required for inexperienced staff Participation in unit based shared governance to facilitate strong team dynamics is required. Surgical RN Work Schedule Shifts are Monday through Friday, daytime hours, 12 or 10 hour shifts Scheduled off at least three holidays per year On call required to cover overnights, weekends, and holidays Occasional requests will be made to stay past end of shift to finish procedures Surgical RN Benefits At TidalHealth, full-time employees working at least 72 hours per pay period, part-time employees working at least 36 hours per pay period and part-time employees working at least 30 hours or more on weekends only are eligible for benefits.
