The Opportunity The Med Tech position provides support for our community’s residents with the essential day-to-day tasks they can no longer perform or need help with. Med Techs are responsible for administering daily medications. Duties include monitoring residents, reporting changes, and collecting samples. The ideal Med Tech will be detail oriented, possess knowledge of resident care procedures and have excellent communication skills. What You’ll Do Deliver routine daily medications, either prescription or non-prescription, to residents Record medication dosages and times Observe residents and document changes in their condition Gather samples for analysis Ensure equipment is routinely inspected and cleaned Uphold all health and safety standards Follows federal, state, and agency regulations to protect own health and that of others Coordinate with different nurses to assist with resident care and medications Follow written or verbal instructions on how to manage medications Respond to resident emergency call signals, bells, or intercom systems to identify residents needs Protects confidential client information unless otherwise required to promote client safety and welfare Seeks guidance from the nurse as needed to perform tasks safely and efficient Responsibilities include customer service, administering medication, caregiving, resident safety and communication What You’ll Bring POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS: Successful completion of a state approved Medication Aide course and is approved to assist with or administer oral and external medications, per state regulations Must demonstrate competency to perform medication administration in accordance with state regulations High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, although mandatory in certain states Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old, or the age required by state regulations, whichever is higher Working experience alone, on a team, and on projects start to finish Strong emotional intelligence and listening skills Dedication to the medical field, especially towards working with the residents Must pass State and company background checks and drug test Take Vital signs Assisting resident with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) Medication supervision (within the scope of the state regulations) Read, write, speak and understand the English language
The Opportunity The Certified Caregiver - CNA position is part of the Health & Wellness Team responsible for providing care to the residents. This position requires a combination of stamina, empathy, and compassion to effectively support the needs of residents. What You’ll Do Accurately perform and record vital signs, height and weight. Accurately calculate and record weight gain/loss and fluid intake/output. Maintain a clean and safe resident environment. Recognize abnormal changes in body functioning and the importance of reporting such changes to a supervisor. Perform palliative and post-mortem care. Perform routine care rounds on each assigned resident, at minimum, every two hours (or more frequently as indicated). Assist residents with mobility. Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Help residents maintain comfortable positions in bed or in chairs to promote comfort. Assist with light housekeeping tasks. Ability to respond quickly to medical emergencies and remain calm under pressure. Responsibilities include customer service, administering medication, caregiving, resident safety and communication. How you make a difference The Nurse Practitioner (NP) under the supervision of the Site Medical Director and other site Physicians, offers a comprehensive range of medical services to incarcerated patients in accordance with established policy and state guidelines. They ensure necessary documentation of services is provided to the Site Medical Director or designee to monitor the provision of clinical services. Additionally, they communicate scheduling changes to the Medical Director and H.S.A. and make arrangements for coverage of medical services if unavailable for an extended period of time. Key Responsibilities Provides medical care to inmates, including conducting exams, chronic care clinics, and infirmary rounds. Maintains accurate and legible progress note documentation in SOAP format and adheres to formulary guidelines. Responds to emergencies and makes logical decisions regarding non-formulary drugs or off-site referrals. Supports existing policies and procedures for admission, transfer, and specialty consultant referrals. Maintains confidentiality and provides input into facility committees as requested. Qualifications & Requirements Education A graduate of an accredited school of nursing An advanced degree in an approved and accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Experience Prior medical/surgical and/or emergency/trauma experience and corrections experience is preferred. Must have the patience and tact to deal with the inmate patient population and ability to work effectively in the corrections environment. Scheduling flexibility is also required to be able to rotate hours and shifts, if needed, and to be called during emergency situations to provide coverage. Licenses/Certifications Must have and maintain current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner within the state of employment. Must have and maintain current CPR certification.
