Responsible for nursing care planning and management of primarily pediatric patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. This is a non-supervisory position following the Florida Nurse Practice Act and chain of command. Maintains patient's privacy and confidentiality of information and records at all times. Administers medication and treatments as prescribed, evaluates pediatric patient response and documents appropriately. Demonstrates therapeutic communication skills when interacting with pediatric patients and families. Participates in formal/informal pediatric patient care conferences. Interacts professionally with other members of the health care team. Identifies and documents the learning and discharge needs of pediatric patients and family; reinforces the teaching plan. Consistently recognizes own limitations, seeks resources and consultation to improve nursing practice.
