Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Staff Nurse position is to be accountable for the care activities, safety and goal achievements of assigned patients through assessing, diagnosing, planning and intervening in actual or potential health problems and evaluating patient’s response to the care. Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Assistant Nurse Manager position is to provide support to the Assistant Director Nursing UH (ADON) in the management of operations and uphold all standards of patient safety and quality measures. In collaboration with the ADON manages daily and monthly staffing, daily shift assignments, and payroll to obtain efficiency and reduce overtime and agency utilization. Is accessible, approachable, and visible to staff; seeks staff input; and serves as clinical mentor. Actively assists staff on routine matters and is first line of response to problem-solving. Ensures clinical competencies of staff and identifies areas in need of improvement. Communicates pertinent information to Assistant Director. Qualifications Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required, Master’s Degree preferred. BLS (CPR),and ACLS are required. Overview Carries out patient care responsibilities with emphasis on decision-making related to the steps in the nursing process to include assessment, diagnosis, and identification of expected outcomes, planning, implementation and evaluation. As a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, formulates the initial plan of care with the provider (physician or nurse practitioner) and collaborates with them to implement a comprehensive patient-centered plan of care to achieve expected outcomes; utilizes principles of assignment and delegation consistent with the NY State Nurse Practice Act. Diagnose and treat response to actual or potential health problems by means of nursing techniques and methods such as case finding, health teaching, health counseling and the provision of care supportive to and restorative of health and well-being. Maintain safe levels of care while adhering to a medical regimen. Collaborates with the physician and other health care providers to assure that a goal oriented care plan is consistent with medical regimen and hospital procedures.
