Responsibilities Supports, participates and works cooperatively with the director of staffing. Responsible for overall quality of patient care and clinical performance of nurses and aides. Organizes clinical operations for the care center. Reviews requests for services and determines patient eligibility/suitability for home care services. Works with intake in coordinating patient referrals and admissions. Oversees scheduling. Oversees payor verification and precertification requirements. Qualifications Associate or bachelors degree in nursing. One year of clinical RN experience in home health or hospice. One year of RN management experience. CT State Requirements : An agency supervisor of clinical services shall be a registered nurse with an active license to practice nursing in this state, and shall have one of the following: (1) A master’s degree from a program approved by the National League for Nursing or the American Public Health Association with a minimum of one year (1) full-time clinical experience in a home health agency or related community health program which included care of the sick at home; or (2) A baccalaureate degree in nursing and a minimum of three (3) years of full-time clinical experience in nursing, at least (1) one of which was in a home health agency or community health program which included care of the sick at home; or (3) A registered nurse who has been continuously employed in the position of supervisor of clinical services in a home health agency in this state since January 1, 1979; or (4) A diploma in nursing or an associates degree in nursing and (A) A minimum of three years of full-time or full-time equivalent clinical experience in nursing within the past five years, at least one year of which was in a home health care agency or community health program which included care of the sick at home; and (B) Evidence of certification by the American Nurses’ Association as a community health nurse or completion of at least six credits received within two years in community health nursing theory or six credits in health care management from an accredited college or university program or school of nursing. Responsibilities Responsible for care center's compliance and implementation of all regulations, laws, policies, and procedures applicable to home health and reimbursement issues. Educates all staff members about state and federal rules and regulations as well as accrediting body standards, and other regulatory agencies' standards. Maintains availability and ongoing communication with the care center and branch sites. Remains available, or ensures similarly qualified alternate is available, at all times during operating hours. Acts as a liaison between the governing body, staff, patients, physicians, and other health care providers Leads and facilitates the development of the overall agency evaluation which includes data from all branch sites. Leads and facilitates care center leadership meetings in preparation for accreditation. Collaborates with branch directors to plan and implement action plans and educational activities to ensure care center readiness. Responsible for employment decisions for direct report staff, including decisions to hire, fire, advance, promote, or change status. Holds employees accountable for the attainment of defined goals and objectives. Executes effective performance redirection when needed. Develops employees through coaching, mentoring, and formal/on the job training and development opportunities. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Licensed Physician or Registered Nurse or an individual holding a bachelor's or associate degree. One year supervisory or administrative experience in home health care or a related health care program. Experience in health service administration. Possesses current driver's license, required liability insurance, and reliable automobile transportation. Current CPR certification applicable if licensed healthcare professional.
