Restorative Nurse RN Duties and Responsibilities: Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs restorative care services, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern nursing care facilities. Meets with administration, medical and nursing staff, therapy department, as well as other related departments in planning restorative care. Develops and maintains restorative care standards. Assists the Quality Assessment and Assurance Committee in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies Assumes the authority, responsibility and accountability of directing restorative care services. Performs administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc. Interprets restorative care policies and procedures to personnel, residents, family members, etc. Provides direct nursing care as necessary and as department needs may dictate. Ensures that all restorative care notes are informative and descriptive of the treatment provided and of the resident’s response to the care. Develops and participates in programs designed for in-service education, on the job training and orientation classes for newly assigned personnel Provides licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with facility, federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations Makes written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of shift as required. All other duties, as assigned. Restorative Nurse RN Skills and Abilities: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Serves as the expert in Restorative Care. Ability to multi-task and remain calm under stress. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to organize and prioritize work. Understands and follows infection control standards, policies and procedures. Must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule and occasional overnight travel. Demonstrate basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications. Restorative Nurse RN Education and Experience: Current CPR Certification required. Nursing Degree or diploma from an accredited College or University. Possess a current license to practice in the State as a Registered Nurse. 1 year of restorative experience preferred. Must have training in rehabilitative and restorative therapy practices. Long-Term care experience preferred. Physical Requirements: Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required. Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards. Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
