Position requires applicant to be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Day shift, every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday). Additional hours can be offered at CNA's request. Activities/ Smoke Aide Description: • I mplementation of resident activities within the facility. • Maintain s activities schedule for timing purposes. • Accompanies residents to the smoke patio and supervises outdoor smoking activities during assigned smoke times. • Explains procedures and communicates with residents regarding safe smoke techniques; including safe disposal of cigarettes and other smoking devices. • Assists residents into smoke aprons according to resident care plans. • Lights cigarettes and pipes and attends residents when they smoke. • Properly stores and maintains smoking equipment. • Reports observations to Charge Nurse concerning the resident’s condition or activities; including, but not limited to, decline in safe smoking activity and non-compliance with facility rules regarding smoking program. • Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement in all activities related to the function of this position. • Performs other related duties as assigned.
