ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Records all entries on flow sheets, notes, charts etc. Reports all changes in resident’s condition to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse Performs all assigned tasks in accordance with the facilities established policies and procedures and as instructed by supervisors Follow work assignments and or work schedules in completing and performing your assigned tasks Ensures that residents’ room is ready for receiving residents Inventories and marks residents’ personal possessions as instructed Transports residents to new rooms or receiving area Assists residents with daily dental and mouth care (ie. Brushing teeth/dentures, oral hygiene, special mouth care, etc.) Assists residents with bath functions (ie. Bedbath, tub or shower bath etc.) as directed Assists residents with dressing/undressing as necessary Assists residents with hair care functions (ie. Combing, brushing, shampooing etc.) Assists residents with nail care (ie. Clipping, trimming and cleaning the finger/toenails, not including diabetic residents) Shaves residents as needed Keeps residents dry Makes beds Maintain intake and output records as instructed Assists in preparing for medical tests Assists with activity and social programs Checks each resident routinely to ensure that his/her personal care needs are being met in accordance with his/her wishes Provides post-mortem care as instructed JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Unencumbered, active CNA certification in the state of employment. Part time Evenings and Weekends The Activity Aide assists the Activity Director in carrying out a planned activity program for residents. Maintains records, transports residents to and from activities. Performs varied clerical and department maintenance functions. The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures. *CNA preferred but not required. Job Responsibilities • Aides assist the recreational activities leader or activities director, helping patients or participants use equipment and supplies. Activities may include arts and crafts, outdoor activities, sports, music or drama. • Prepares equipment and ensures the safety of patients or participants in the activity. • Assist in leading the participants in group activities, such as an exercise class or art project. • Proper record keeping of equipment and its use. • Assist in planning programs for residents, which can help to provide socialization, relaxation and exercise. Education/Experience: • Must possess a high school diploma • Must possess a valid driver's license with F-Endorsement • Must be able to drive the facility van • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and/or holidays • Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team • Must present a positive image of the facility • Must meet health assessment requirements, including two stage Mantoux skin tests and one-step annually thereafter Additional Skills Activity aides should be energetic and personable to work with residents or participants. The aide should have the ability to motivate others to participate in activities. The worker should also be sensitive to the needs of each individual patient or participant
