Essential Duties & Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse: Assist the Director of Nursing Services and Assistant Director of Nursing Services in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Services Department, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the Facility. Ensure that reference material (i.e., PDR’S, regulations, professional standards of practice, etc.) maintained at the nurses’ stations is current. Recommend to the Director of Nursing Services written material that will assist the Nursing Services Department in meeting the day-to-day needs of residents. Ensure that the Nursing Service Procedures Manual reflects the day-to-day nursing care procedures used by the Facility. Make written and oral reports or recommendations to the Director of Nursing Services, as necessary or required, concerning the operation of the Nursing Services Department. Assist in developing methods for coordinating nursing services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the residents’ total regimen of care. Ensure that all nursing services personnel are following their respective job descriptions. Participate in the maintenance and implementation of the Facility’s quality assurance program for the Nursing Services Department. Participate in Facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies as requested by the Administrator or Director of Nursing Services. Participate in developing, implementing, and periodically updating the resident’s written discharge plan. Assist the resident and Discharge Planning Coordinator in planning the nursing services portion of the resident’s discharge plan. Monitor the Facility’s QI, QM, and survey reports and provide the Director of Nursing Services with recommendations that will be helpful in eliminating problem areas. Assist the Director of Nursing Services in obtaining staffing information that must be posted on a daily basis. Participate in the development, maintenance, implementation, and updating of the written policies and procedures for the administration, storage, and control of medications and supplies Job Requirements of Registered Nurse: Registered Nurse current state license in Florida One (1) year related nursing management experience preferred Must have a current/active CPR certification. Excellent technical, assessment, and documentation skills. Effective verbal and written English communication skills. Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of company objectives. Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize, coordinate and simultaneously maintain multiple projects with high level of quality and productivity. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and make independent decisions. Approachable, flexible and adaptable to change. Maintain clean, orderly treatment cart and restock treatment supplies. Follow Infection Control policies and procedures. Administer medications and treatments accurately as ordered by the physician and according to all facility policies and procedures Document pressure sore status weekly or more often as condition changes. Assist in monitoring the inventory of medications, medical supplies and equipment to be sure adequate supplies of skin care products are on hand to meet the needs of residents. Participate in educational programs for residents and their family members relative to skin care when a resident is being discharged to home. Participate in Quality Improvement activities, as assigned. Other special projects and duties, as assigned. Summary for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Perform direct resident care duties under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel. Assist with promoting a compassionate physical and psychosocial environment for the residents. Responsibilities of Certified Nursing Assistant Provide personal care (i.e., grooming, bathing, dressing, oral care, etc.) of residents daily and as needed. Change bed linen and maintain appropriate grooming supplies in resident room on a regular basis. Ambulate and transfer residents, utilizing appropriate assistive devices and body mechanics. Record resident vital signs, weights and measurements, intake and output, food consumption, and other information, as assigned. Routinely turn and position residents, as necessary. Observe residents carefully and report changes in condition to Charge Nurse. Participate in collecting data needed for the accurate completion of the MDS and the plan of care. Provide input to the nurses for development of the plan of care. Provide adequate hydration to residents at regular intervals each day according to specific resident needs. Prepare residents for each meal and transport to dining room (unless a bed patient) making sure that food tray is accessible, self-help devices are available (if needed), and assistance is provided to those residents who cannot feed themselves. Keep an accurate record of food intake and output, as directed. Be alert for proper ventilation, temperature, light and noise control. Take TPR (temperature, pulse, & rate), blood pressure, weighing of residents, etc., as directed. Promptly answer call lights and assist with other resident needs. Assist in the orientation and training of other staff, as requested. Requirements/Qualifications of Certified Nursing Assistant: Current Nursing Assistant certification from state of Florida. Current/active CPR certification, preferred. At least one (1) year Skilled Nursing experience preferred. Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
