APRN Nurse Practitioner (Obstetrics and Gynecology)

Position Summary The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) provides comprehensive health care for assigned patients/community as determined by scope of practice guidelines and specialty. This includes completion of a health assessment, determining diagnosis, planning and prescribing treatment within the parameters of medical staff privileges at the University of Illinois and area of expertise. The APRN participates in the educational experiences of nursing students, medical students, residents and other health care disciplines. The APRN is required to have and maintain a faculty appointment in order to receive clinical privileges to practice at the University of Illinois. This position will primarily focus on outpatient women's health care including obstetrics and gynecology, preconception counseling, early pregnancy education, and menopausal care. The APRN will work closely with physician faculty, residents, nursing staff, and an interdisciplinary healthcare team while contributing to the educational mission of UICOMP. Duties & Responsibilities Manage the care of patients within assigned area and/or area of expertise and within parameters of medical staff privileges. Obtain relevant patient health history. Study and interpret patient tests and records. Perform physical exam and record findings. Perform various diagnostic, preventive and/or therapeutic procedures and/or order special screenings and developmental or laboratory tests to diagnose conditions; interpret results. Prescribe/order appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions and develop a treatment plan. Develop an educational plan for patient/family. Assist with scheduling of patients for upcoming procedures including coordinating with other services (division, departments) and completion of necessary documentation, scheduling forms and clearance. Order appropriate consultation/referral. Determine effectiveness of treatment plan with documentation of treatment provided and patient outcomes. Reassess and modify plan with patient/family and treatment team within the parameters of medical staff privileges. Participates in the educational experiences of nursing students, medical students, residents and other healthcare disciplines. By being involved in case conferences, serving as a preceptor and mentor, assisting with curriculum development and instruction. The Advanced Practice Nurse is required to have and maintain a faculty appointment in order to receive clinical privileges to practice at the University of Illinois Health System. UI Health - Clinical Nurse Consultant II Surgical Coordinator - Orthopedics

Position Summary The Clinical Nursing Consultant II (CNCII) – Orthopedic provides comprehensive patient navigation and clinical leadership for patients within the UI Health Orthopedic Department. This role utilizes advanced clinical expertise to guide patients through the surgical continuum, including improving preoperative evaluations, ensuring timeliness of care, coordinating complex clinical processes, addressing barriers to care, and developing plans for postoperative and long-term follow-up. As an integral member of the interdisciplinary team, the CNCII builds therapeutic relationships with patients, families, and colleagues to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and support optimal outcomes. In alignment with the CNCII role, the position is accountable for facilitating patient care using the Nursing Process and Relationship-Based Care model, while providing direct care, consultation, and coordination for complex orthopedic cases. The CNCII leads and supports the educational development Duties & Responsibilities • Accountable for perioperative care coordination, ambulatory clinic surgical patient care and follow ups, effective scheduling and perioperative patient preparation to include medical and financial readiness for surgical cases, pre and postoperative care planning. • Engages in quality improvement projects for the unit, and actively participates in quality improvement projects within the Division and Hospital. Monitors quality improvement outcomes and compliance. • Develops, coordinates and/or mentors staff in surgical coordination, patient care plan development and ongoing clinical assessment.
