Qualifications Must have successfully completed a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) program, or be enrolled and complete the program within four months of hire Key Responsibilities Provide hygiene assistance to residents Assist residents with feeding and daily living needs Perform basic treatments and procedures as directed by the charge nurse Observe and report residents’ psycho-social and emotional needs Notify the Charge Nurse of any changes in residents’ conditions Maintain a clean and neat personal appearance Demonstrate respectful and professional behavior toward co-workers and facility contacts Use nursing home equipment properly and safely Follow OSHA guidelines for handling and storing chemicals and equipment Attend required in-service training programs Assist in other areas as directed by the Director of Nursing Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Lift up to 50 pounds Frequent bending, turning, pushing, and pulling Use of both hands and arms Exposure to odors, body secretions, and excrements Potential exposure to behavioral disorders Must be able to manage interpersonal conflicts effectively The Avenue at Aurora is a post-hospital rehabilitation and skilled nursing care facility offering a distinctive experience not commonly found in traditional care settings. Why Join Our Team? 5 Star facility Hotel like facility with private rooms Stable Clinical leadership Team 12 Hour Shifts Responsibilities include: * Assess daily and long-term needs of residents * Medication administration and recording according to physician’s orders, facility policy and safe nursing practice. * Treatments and dressings and recording according to physician’s orders, facility policy and safe nursing practice. * Completion of precise and professional charting according to policy. * Communication with residents and responsible parties regarding resident condition, treatment, appointments, etc. * Communication with pharmacy to assure proper medications for each resident. * Coordination of all nursing functions of assigned unit/team. * Hands on care of residents as needed and other duties as assigned.
