Assist in the interpretation of patch testing results and perform placement and removal as directed by an RN or provider. Maintain the immunotherapy room with necessary supplies and materials, ensuring cleanliness. Administer allergy shots and ensuring provider is on site. Observes, records and reports patients’ vitals and reactions to treatments. Assesses patients’ needs and suggest solutions to patient care problems. Supervise triaging of patient communications (through email and/or portal). Maintains accurate patient records, document all visits in EMR. Assures patient stays for required observation time after injections. Learn and perform immunotherapy vial mixing procedures and proper documentation in accordance with current regulations. Reacts appropriately in patient reaction situations, informs physician and/or other clinical staff as necessary to mitigate adverse reactions. Assist providers in recording prescribed treatments, medications, lab requisitions, prescriptions, prior authorization (including biologics), and procedures within established guidelines. Understand provider to patient flow and anticipate provider’s next steps to the best of their ability. Demonstrate clinical competence and sound knowledge base in the provision of quality patient care. Ensure allergy test sets and emergency kits are filled, current, and up to date. Maintain knowledge of trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate articles, journals, and related materials; and by attending seminars and conferences as needed. Report improperly operating medical equipment and instruments to the supervisor.
