Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. What we're looking for: Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school. More about our team Our 60-bed Medical Surgical unit spans two floors, where our team delivers high-quality, patient-centered care using the nursing process in alignment with established scope and standards of practice. This role reports directly to the Department Director or Manager. How you'll contribute A Medical Surgical RN who excels in this role: Performs duties as assigned and requested. Completes focused patient assessments and reassessments based on patient's condition, procedures, medications, and treatments. Adequately assesses and reassesses pain; utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Provides patient care and communicates effectively with patients of all ages and with specific needs. Demonstrates knowledge of medications and ensures correct administration following the six rights to minimize medication errors. Assists physicians with procedures and provides services requiring technical and manual skills. Performs treatments and delivers care within licensure scope. Ensures patient safety by performing all aspects of care in an environment that reduces the likelihood of errors. Operates and manages equipment safely and correctly. Educates patients and families on disease processes and recovery expectations. Participates in performance improvement and continuing education. Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed. Maintains regular and reliable attendance. Performs other duties as assigned.
