Work Schedule: PRN shifts Pay Rate: $28.00-$38.00/ Hour depending on experience and qualifications JOB SUMMARY: This position to ensure that quality care is delivered through monitoring of staff performance, physician contact, care planning and daily resident observation. This position also provides direct care to residents. All this is done according to nursing standards of practice, standard procedures, and established State and Federal regulations for skilled nursing facilities. JOB DUTIES: Assist routine daily direction and monitor the work of the nursing assistants on the unit, assuring a high standard of nursing care and satisfactory completion of tasks. Follows company procedures for narcotic counting, pharmacy orders, and restraint reduction. Communicate on a regular basis with the Nurse Manager or Director of Nursing regarding observations, and suggestions of problem areas, resident and employee activities, concerns, needs, conditions, etc. Documents any change in patient's conditions including but not limited to nutritional problems, infections, skin conditions, weight loss or any other noticeable changes. Participate in report at the beginning and end of shifts to assure proper information about residents is communicated. Document and notify applicable departments of any patient's room changes, LOA, new admits, or discharges. Assist in the admission, orientation, and observation of new residents, assure that physician orders for diets, therapy, medication, etc. are transcribed and communicated according to procedure. Certified Nursing Assistant, or Certified Nursing Aide, is responsible for supporting medical staff in administering care to patients with various injuries, illnesses and disabilities. Their duties include helping patients bathe and maintain proper hygiene, feeding patients, providing continence care when needed, and assessing their patients’ vital signs to notify staff of any changes and assist in maintaining a clean, homelike environment. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Experience Must be possess a license as a certified nursing assistant. Must possess a sincere desire to serve the elderly. Ability to read, write and speak the English language. Possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public. Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel. Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning.
