FTE: 0.900000 Standard Hours: 36.00 Shift: Shift 3 Job Summary: Plans, organizes, coordinates and provides direct nursing care for an identified group of patients according to specific standards. Other information: Critical Care -- At least one year experience in Med/Surg required. Prefer experience in ER, and/or CCU nursing. ACLS required within first year of hire. Emergency Services -- At least one year experience in Med/Surg required. Would consider new graduates with Paramedic experience only. ACLS required withing first year of hire. PALS and TNCC preferred. Women's and Children's Center -- None required. Prefer one year experience in Med/Surg, Pediatric and/or OB nursing. NRP certification required within first year of hire. Specialty Float -- At least one year experience in Med/Surg required. ER &/or CCU experience preferred. Will float between CCU, ER, and PACU. ACLS required within first year of hire. General Float -- At least one year experience in Med/Surg required. Will float between Med/Surg, Surgery Center and Post Partum. Medical/Surgical -- None required. One year experience in Medical Surgical nursing preferred. Prep & Holding/PACU -- Prefer at least two years experience in CCU, Cardiac Rehab, ER, or in Surgical Services nursing. ACLS required within first year of hire. Surgery Center/Special Procedures -- Prefer two years experience in Med/Surg and/or Ortho nursing. Ambulatory Per-Anesthesia nursing certificate and ACLS preferred. Surgical Services: Operating Room -- None required. Prefer two to three years experience in Surgical/Ortho and/or Operating Room nursing. Operating Room Nurse certificate preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required, and current unrestricted Wisconsin RN license required. Excellent customer service, critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills required. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required. Cancer Center – A minimum of 2 years of RN experience required. Preferred experience in Med/Surg and/or Oncology is preferred. Job Summary: The Assistant Nurse Manager supports and collaborates with the Nurse Manager by overseeing the day to day operational activities of their assigned unit(s). This individual must be able to apply principles of leadership and human relations in the overall supervision and coordination of patient care and personnel, with primary accountability during the off-shifts. The Assistant Nurse Manager assists the Nurse Manager with maintaining unit specific standards of practice based on current literature and professional standards of practice. This person may be delegated additional responsibilities as needed in the absence of the Nurse Manager. EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: A minimum of 2 years of clinical practice required which could include a combination of nursing, nursing support patient care experience. or a combination of clinical patient care experience with prior clinical or non-clinical leadership experience is required. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: Bachelors degree in nursing is required. Master's degree is preferred. SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Interpersonal skills necessary to interact with and maintain effective contacts with a variety of hospital personnel. Analytical skills necessary to prepare nursing care plans, outcome management tools, statistical reports, implement effective nursing care and develop solutions to problems concerning patients' mental or physical well-being. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to 80% of work time when resolving patient care problems and dealing with patients and their families, often during stressful situations. Proficient in basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact).
