Your responsibilities and tasks may include: Prepare and organize the operating room equipment, instruments, and supplies as required for various surgical procedures Anticipate surgeon and patient needs during a procedure Take care of specimens, prepare, check, and monitor medications, and assist with dressings Set up a sterile and sanitary environment, and maintain the sterile field for the patient during procedures Utilize correct body mechanics in moving, transporting, and positioning patients, stretchers, and/or tables in order to prevent injury to patient and personnel Follow relevant safety and sanitation guidelines Participate in orientation and education of all operating room staff on an ongoing basis Participate in stocking and restocking medical supplies Provide surgeons and patients with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment What qualifications you will need: Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor, or CPR must be obtained within30 days of employment start date Surgical Tech Certification Required - NCCT certification NOT accepted, NBSTSA required. Nashville General is hiring for a Full-time Certified Scrub Tech for our Labor and Delivery department in Nashville, Tennessee. The Surgical Technologist position is primarily responsible to perform “scrub” duties under the direction of a registered nurse and assist the physician during procedures as directed by the physician, assist in preparing for surgical procedures either routine or emergency, assisting in the maintenance of equipment and supplies, and other tasks assigned by supervisor.
