Overview As a member of the health care team responsible for providing basic nursing care to patients under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team or unit. Responsibilities Assists patients with activities of daily living and helps to promote a safe, comfortable environment that fosters the physiological and psychosocial well-being of the patient. Notifies R.N. and/or L.V.N. of relevant changes in the patient’s condition including, but not limited to changes in V.S., level of consciousness and/or pain, breathing pattern, drainage, amount of bleeding, mood, or increase and decrease in capabilities/limitations. Qualifications Recent experience in an acute care setting preferred. Graduate from high school or its equivalent. Current CA C.N.A certification, BLS and MAB.
Overview The staff RN is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the therapeutic environments, treatment and modalities and interdisciplinary collaboration. Responsibilities The RN shall, for their patient, collaborate in the formulation of the overall plan of care for the patient, as evidenced by written documentation. Identifies needs and problems specific to biophysical, cognitive, developmental, emotional, socio-cultural, and spiritual. Demonstrates accountability for on-going awareness of the status of assigned patients. Collects and documents data appropriate to the nature and severity of the condition. Qualifications Current California RN License. Current Basic Life Support (Healthcare Provider) certification. Current ACLS. Dysrhythmia certification. Current NIHSS certification, or within 90 days of employment.
