Verify patient information by interviewing patient and confirming purpose of the visit. Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by keeping patient information confidential. Prepare patient for exam by collecting medical history, vital signs and required clinical information. Document patients' current medications and all allergies. Assist provider during testing, examinations and procedure(s) when needed. Follow provider's instructions to complete patient treatment. Provide and record all medications and immunizations ordered by provider and given to the patient. Take patient specimen and carry out laboratory test(s) ordered by the provider. Stock exam rooms. Keep supplies ready by taking inventory of stock; communicate to the manager when an order needs to be placed. Perform administrative duties such as answering incoming calls, returning calls, verifying lab and x-ray reports are received.
