Harbor Village Health & Rehabilitation Center, located in New London, CT, is seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our clinical team. This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) ready to advance into a key leadership position. Summary of position: The primary purpose of the Director of Nursing position is to plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of our Nursing Service Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our Center, and as may be directed by the Administrator and the Medical Director, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a vital role in delivering compassionate, hands-on care to residents in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility. CNAs assist with daily living activities, support residents’ physical and emotional well-being, and work collaboratively with nursing staff to ensure a safe, respectful, and dignified care environment. Key Responsibilities Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding. Measure and record vital signs, intake/output, weight, and other health data as directed.. Answer call lights promptly and attend to resident needs in a timely, respectful manner. Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and repositioning to prevent pressure injuries. Observe and report any changes in the resident's condition, mood, or behavior to the nurse on duty. Support residents with meal service, hydration, and nutritional needs. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of resident rooms and common areas. Foster positive, supportive relationships with residents, families, and team members. Follow infection control protocols, safety procedures, and facility policies at all times. Participate in shift reports, training, and team meetings as required. Qualifications Current Connecticut CNA certification in good standing. Minimum 1 year of experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or hospital setting (preferred, not required).
