Demonstrates knowledge in usage, indication, adverse side effects, contraindications and negative interactions of most commonly used steroids, NSAIDs, benzodiazepines, antidepressants, anticonvulsants, narcotics, antifungals, and diuretics. Collaborates with the Director of Community Based Services, Chief Clinical Operations Officer and Director of Quality Improvement in the implementation of an agency wide Continuous Quality Improvement Program; assists in monitoring activities that are both patient and organizational focused to promote clinical quality. Handles implementation of care to meet the physical, psychosocial, environmental, safety, emotional and spiritual needs related to the terminal illness that must be addressed in order to promote the patient/family's well-being, comfort, and dignity throughout the dying process while maintaining standards of care consistent with the Hospice Philosophy which can be verified through outcome measures. Must be able to competently oversee and perform all functions of the office and field RN/LPN duties, inclusive of all platforms and documentation requirements. Prepares staffing schedules as appropriate and anticipates staffing profile needs; plans and participates in the orientation and staff development needs to assure that program personnel are current in clinical information and practices.
