Director of Nursing (DON)

Join the highly motivated team at our less than 100 bed facility, skilled nursing that serves mutliple demographics and care needs. Though under new ownership, our nursing management leaders have decades of longevity at the facility amongst them, ready to welcome a new director to lead the clinical department to help foster a new vison. The facility is located north of Napa and San Fransisco, Ca, in beautiful Lake County, nessled in a small, tight knit community. The ideal canidate will have an unencumbered California RN License, at least a year of mangement experience within the Skilled Nursing demogaphic, understanding of state and federal guidelines, flexibility to serve shifts at varied times a day, and a willingness to to foster an atomosphere of inovation and inclusivity. ROBUST BONUS PLAN/ VACATION/HOLIDAY/SICK Position Description Responsible for the administration and management of Nursing Services to residents in accordance with orders of the physicians and total needs of the residents. Responsible for 24-hour supervision of Nursing Services and directs the Nursing Department to maintain quality standards of care in accordance with current Federal, State and The Company standards, guidelines and regulations. In absence of the Administrator, assumes the responsibility for center operations. The position conducts the nursing process – assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation – under the scope of the State’s Nurse Practice Act of Registered Nurse licensure. Principal Responsibilities Assumes ultimate responsibility for coordinating plans for the total care of each resident which comply with physician’s orders, governmental regulations and facility resident care policies. Communicates and interprets policies and procedures to nursing staff, and monitors staff practices and implementation. Participates in all admissions decisions, and may visit prospective residents before admissions. Participates in daily and weekly management team meetings to discuss resident status, census changes, personnel, or resident complaints or concerns. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or assigned at any time with or without notice. Qualifications Currently licensed as RN in the state practiced. The ideal candidate will possess the capacity to lead new employees to have success in their positions by ensuring there is a solid orientation in place, conduct continued education for the facility and encourage all employees to extend the best care to the residents we serve! Strong knowledge of the long term care setting is necessary along with a passion for upholding regulations, both state and federal, a willingness to teach practice geared toward those regulations. The person chosen will assist in facilitating the schedule for nursing staff, ensure CEUs are extended and guidance toward best practice occurs.
